The Waterless DX Geothermal is a revolutionary design, yet time tested and proven ground source technology used for over 25 years. DX Geothermal technology stands for “Direct Exchange" Geothermal. A DX geothermal does exactly that; it exchanges heat from the ground directly into the refrigerant of the heating & cooling system. This is the main objective of every heat pump system and a DX geothermal heat pump does this more efficiently than any other heat pump on the market. The intermediate step of transferring the earth’s heat into water (before transferring it to the refrigerant) is eliminated. That’s where the name “Waterless Geothermal” comes from. The Waterless DX Geothermal system is the latest in geothermal technology and has eliminated many step and components used in a water source geothermal system. The simplicity of the system is what provides the homeowner with the maximum return on his or her investment. The Advanced Geothermal system does NOT use any water or antifreeze what so ever. Unlike a traditional closed loop water source geothermal which uses WATER & ANTIFREEZE, REFRIGERANT (Freon), and a PLASTIC GROUND LOOP; the Waterless DX geothermal system uses just REFRIGERANT and a COPPER GROUND LOOP.It utilizes the heat transfer capabilities of copper tubing to provide warm heating and cool air conditioning with energy savings over a conventional system of 40%-70%. The ground loop fluid is R-407C Refrigerant, and is a safe, non-toxic, non-flammable fluid. The EPA has approved the refrigerant and copper ground loop to be safe and non harmful to the earth.

No high priced fossil fuels needed
In a woods or in town?... No Problem!
No visible exterior equipment
No outside subcontractors used
NO NEED TO TEAR UP THE WHOLE YARD...
With the waterless geothermal it’s not necessary to tear up your entire yard. It only requires a 3 foot circle and a trench to the house to be dug up; perfect for retrofitting to an existing home or for a new construction project. If you live with-in the city limits or in a woods space is no longer a problem. Since the vertical ground loops are installed all with-in a 3' circle you don't have to worry about ground settling through out your whole yard caused by the many long trenches dug during the installation of a horizontal ground loop.
EASY GROUND INSTALLATION... NO SUB-CONTRACTORS
The ground coil can be installed before or after the ductwork inside the house is installed. The Waterless Geothermal System does not require extensive excavation throughout the whole yard. We at Buschur's Refrigeration don’t use subcontractors, even when it comes to drilling the holes vertically into the ground. This is done with the use of a small drilling rig which has the capabilities to get into small and tight area without tearing up the whole yard. Then a small trench is dug that leads back to the house and the ground loop is tied into the geothermal unit in the house. The ground coils are installed, pressure checked, and the area is backfilled. After the ground loop is completely installed the small area that was dug up gets covered with top soil and grass can be planted. Once the grass grows you won’t even be able to tell anything was done. Next, the geothermal unit, air handle are installed in the basement, utility room, closet, or garage.
LOWER MAINTENANCE & LONGER SYSTEM LIFE...
Since the heat exchange ground coil is buried underground, the Waterless Geothermal System eliminates the need for a costly outdoor electric defrost cycle, which is necessary with conventional air source heat pump design. This outdoor defrost cycle is both expensive to operate and is the source of many maintenance problems. The life of the system is at least twice that of conventional air conditioner or heat pump since the system is not affected by the outdoor weather conditions. Keeping the air filter clean is the only maintenance required with this advanced geothermal system.
COPPER LONGEVITY CONFIRMED...
Ancient Egyptians understood the power of copper. Even today some 5,000 year-old copper pipes used to convey water in Egypt are still in existence! That is precisely why we can offer a lifetime warranty on the copper ground coils. The rugged durability along with the super conductive properties of the copper coil, provide outstanding longevity and is the obvious reason why copper is the material of choice when it comes to harnessing the earth's energy. The fact is copper has an outstanding history of performance as a highly corrosive resistant material in most underground enviroments. In 1994, archeologists excavating the remains of a 4,500-year-old Egyptian funerary pyramid complex, unearthed a sophisticated copper drainage system. Although the overall condition of the pyramid and temples today is poor, the copper piping has survived, attesting to the longevity of buried copper tubing. It is also on of the few metals that exists natuarlly as an element. Copper is widely used underground in water lines, carrying water from the street to the home in most residential settings. Copper is a noble metal and is non-corrosive in most soil conditions. A soil sample test is done for every geothermal installation to ensure the integrity of the ground loop. If an enviroment exists that could potentially harm the copper, a simple and inexpensive ground loop protection system is installed. This method is proven to provide over 100 years of protection on the copper loop. The copper will easily stand the test of time and last many years to come. With a Waterless geothermal from Buschur’s, you can have peace of mind with your Geothermal project during the initial installation and for years to come.
